Guide of reinstall Fedora 12 x86_64

Printer

The printer settings for the Photocopiers : probably something like
Administration | Printing | Add new printer

LPD Host or printer:

Host elecfs.ohm.york.ac.uk
Queue prelcopy
Make Oce
Model NC3165 PS3 or similar (any PS3 Oce should work)

( or might say lpd://elecfs.ohm.york.ac.uk/prelcopy )

... That assumes you're using the same username pl534 on your linux
box. You might be able to add "-U pl534" under advanced options to
force it to work.

If that doesn't work, ie jobs don't appear on the printer or with the
wrong username, you'll have to use the SMB address:
smb://elecfs/prelcopy

I've not used the B013 printer from linux for a while, it should work
using lpd protocol, address sprite.ohm.york.ac.uk

The .ppd driver can be download at Oce's website.

Install Flash player on Google Chrome with x86_64 OS

Create a folder called plugins under /opt/google/chrome. Go here (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/64bit.html
and download from here: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer10/libflashplayer-10.0.42.34.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz) and download the prerelease for the 64-bit version of flashplayer for Linux. Place the file into the plugins folder and restart chrome.

Making eps Files by Corel Draw and Visio

Making eps Files

LaTeX likes your images to be input as a .eps file which is a major pain. Geeks who use 'mogrify' in linux manage this quite well, but what about the rest of us who are using Windows?

Once you have made your image preferably as a .bmp or .jpg there are a number of different programs to turn it into an eps (such as paint, Corel Draw and Photoshop).

However if you try to 'Print to file' although the eps will appear to have been created LaTeX will produce an error like this:

! Text line contains an invalid character.
‹read 1› ♦

To avoid this error use Corel Photo Paint, open the .jpg and use Save As then select EPS - Encapsulated Post Script
